I have simply got to stop watching morning news shows.
This morning, Rev. Al Sharpton was being interviewed by Meridith Viera and was bleating on about how if Michael Jackson was a white man there wouldn't be all this scrutiny into his life and lifestyle.
Oh puleeze!
Perhaps the good Rev. has forgotten another American icon named Elvis Presley??
When Elvis came to his end (untimely or not), we were treated to WAY more information about his life and lifestyle than we ever needed to know. For example, we were regaled with tales of his difficulties with "irregularity" and how those drugs along with other drugs conspired in his system to create chaos. Or was it his penchant for fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches? And lets not forget the endless discussion about whether Elvis was found on the toilet or on the bathroom floor. Good grief!
And let's not forget the years of "inquiries" by such noted rags as the National Enquirer about the state of his health, his fortune, his ex wife, his daughter, his drug abuse, and on and on and on. One article even calculated how much his overweight body sweated during a performance.
I'd call that scrutiny for sure.
It's not the color of the skin, Rev. Sharpton, it's the infamy of the individual. This is one time you cannot beat the racism stick. Unless, of course, Elvis was a secret black man. Now that would be news!

Amen to that! Excellent point. With Rev Sharpton, too many times everything for him boils down to race when it shouldn't.
Haha, Elvis being black, that's a good one. Though I'm sure in the end he might have actually been darker skinned than Jackson.
uhm, yeah. and i'm pretty sure most people are against the practice of pedophilia whether the person is black or white.
racism isn't such a huge issue in America anymore. people like Sharpton just keep making it an issue.

Rev. Sharpton, the constant race-baiter. Ugh.
