  • trying to tell us something?

I laughed out loud at this article on MSNBC:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31803370/ns/travel-news/

Turtles made their way onto the runways of JFK airport, delaying air traffic while crews rounded up the turtles and returned them to Jamaica Bay far from the runway and back where it was safe.

    So.................................

This begs a couple of questions for me:

    1. Exactly how does one "round up" a turtle?  Somehow chaps and lariats do not seem necessary here.....perhaps buckets and nets?  Doesn't do much for the cowboy song portion of a roundup, does it?

    2. Were the turtles singing "Don't fence me in"?  Do turtles even sing?

    3.  How many people had trouble explaining to their loved ones/bosses/friends that their flight was delayed because of turtles?  Would you believe that story?

    4. Maybe the turtles are trying to tell us something....like slow down, take it easy, travel in large groups, wait for a bailout....oh wait, that last one was for business.......

You can see in what random directions my mind can wander.....

So, yay for the turtles and double yay for JFK for taking care of them.  Turtles are a good indicator of a healthy environment.  When you see a turtle, things are good in your neighborhood, environmental-wise.

And maybe we should adopt a more turtle like approach to life, you know....slow down, move with deliberation, but keep on plugging along.

Sounds like good advice for me.....
