A touch of autism???
Overheard while waiting to check out at a department store yesterday:
Woman: I'm getting this for may grandson. He has autism.
Clerk: Oh, my nephew had a touch of autism, but he grew out of it.
Oh really????
I was under the impression that autism could be managed or adapted to, but not something that you could "grow out of".....

a 'touch of autism' seriously...people need to actually be informed about things when they talk...man.
a touch of autism? really now.
Two of my sister's four precious sons are autistic.. It is definitely NOT something they grow out of....and because of the disorder they will probably never be fully independent. This clerk needs to totally get a clue.....
